Burcin Mutlu-Pakdil

Dr. Burçin Mutlu-Pakdil is an accomplished astrophysicist and Assistant Professor at Dartmouth College. Her research is centered on investigating unique galaxies, such as the rare double-ringed elliptical galaxy known as Burin's Galaxy, and non-barred ringed galaxies like Hoag's Object. Dr. Mutlu-Pakdil's work delves into the formation, evolution, and internal dynamics of galaxies, shedding light on accretion mechanisms and galaxy evolution processes. She is actively engaged in projects involving the census of supermassive black holes and the search for intermediate-mass black hole candidates in low-luminosity AGN and dwarf galaxies.
