Mohammad Tauheed is an architect by training who has diversified his career into technology consultancy, editing, curating, and design. With expertise in event production, public speaking, communications, business development, leadership, and cybersecurity, he has accumulated extensive hands-on experience through workshops and programs across North America, Europe, and Asia.
A TED Senior Fellow and former consultant for TED Conferences LLC, Tauheed also curates and organizes the TEDxDhaka conference. He serves as the Founding Curator of the Global Shapers Dhaka Hub of the World Economic Forum, contributing significantly to youth leadership development in Bangladesh. He was also the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of ArchSociety, one of the largest open-source global communities for architects and designers, from 2006 to 2013.
Tauheed played a pivotal role in the creation of the Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes, and Settlements, where he served as Academic Coordinator. During his tenure from 2015 to 2021, he led the institute’s academic programs, public events, publications, and digital media, including editing the institute’s flagship bilingual magazine, Vas.
In 2021, he shifted his focus to technology and human-digital-interaction, joining Portonics, a technology consultancy firm operating in Dhaka, Bangkok, and Washington, DC. As the head of the business team, Tauheed manages a range of global technology projects, including mobile applications with millions of active users. He splits his time between Portonics’ Bangkok and Dhaka offices.
Tauheed’s unique combination of architectural and urban design insight, technological expertise, and global exposure positions him as a strategic thinker who excels at identifying patterns and solving complex problems. His transdisciplinary experience, gained through participation in over eight TED flagship conferences and years of leadership at TEDxDhaka, Global Shapers Dhaka Hub, and the Bengal Institute, makes him a forward-thinking innovator and leader.
