Born in Ghana, Dr. Sangu Julius Delle is an entrepreneur, lawyer, investor, scholar, and philanthropist committed to transforming Africa’s development landscape. He is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of CarePoint, a technology-driven healthcare company operating across Africa with more than 65 facilities serving over one million patients annually. He is also the Founder and Executive Chairman of Golden Palm Investments Corporation, an impact investment firm with approximately $100 million in assets under management and a portfolio that includes companies such as mPharma, Andela, Flutterwave, and MaxSoko. Beyond business, Dr. Delle is deeply invested in social change. He founded the Sangu Delle Foundation, which has awarded grants to advance education, healthcare, and economic empowerment in rural Ghana, directly impacting more than 100,000 people. His early non-profit work with Cleanacwa provided clean water and sanitation to more than 200,000 people across 160 villages in Ghana. Dr. Delle currently serves as Technical Advisor to Ghana’s Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment and as the President of Ghana’s representative on the Municipal Assembly for Nandom, where he advances policy, governance, and youth economic empowerment. He is also Chairman of the Board at Ashesi University, where he helps shape governance and strategy for one of Africa’s premier academic institutions. He joins Archbishop Desmond Tutu as the second African to serve on Harvard University’s governing Board of Overseers since its founding in 1642. Sangu serves or has previously served on multiple boards and advisory boards including at AXA, Andela, mPharma, Autocheck, Flutterwave, Harvard’s Center for African Studies, Harvard Medical School, Oxford University, The Rhodes Trust, the Peddie School and Ghana International School. An academic at heart, Dr. Delle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Highest Honors) from Harvard College in African Studies and Economics, a Doctor of Law from Harvard Law School, a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from Oxford University, Executive Education Certificates in Leadership from the Oxford University Said Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and U.V.A. Frank Batten School of Leadership and Pubic Policy; and a PhD in Economic Anthropology and African Studies at the University of Birmingham (U.K.). He is a licensed attorney in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Dr. Delle is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, a TED Fellow, an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow, a Soros Fellow, a GLG Social Impact Fellow and an Eisenhower Fellow. In 2005, as a high school student, Sangu was featured in TIME magazine’s Tomorrow25 as one of 25 future world leaders. An avid traveler, he has visited 110+ countries including 47 in Africa and is the award-winning author of Making Futures: Young Entrepreneurs in a Dynamic Africa and has delivered widely viewed TED talks on macro-finance and on mental health. Dr. Delle is a Prince from the Gbullu Chiir Royal Family in Nandom where he currently serves as Maalu Naa (Traditional Development Leader) and senior advisor to the King. A devout Catholic, Dr. Delle is a Minister of the Word at Christ the King Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Knights of Marshall. His proudest ‘title’ is being father to a beautiful and brilliant three-year old princess.
