I work on creating new approaches to interdisciplinary scientific imaging, data exploration, and image analysis with a focus on 3D visualization.
My research includes the application of medical imaging programs to astronomical data as part of the "Astronomical Medicine" project at Harvard's Initiative in Innovative Computing (IIC). I work with the developers of medical visualization tools to improve their effectiveness in multiple scientific disciplines, and collaborate with both astronomers and doctors to help them analyze and visualize their multidimensional data. I am now also working on "Multiscale Hemodynamics" with physicists and cardiologists visualizing the combination of simulation data with real medical imaging to help diagnose and treat heart disease.
I graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Astronomy & Astrophysics and Physics in 2006, and am now an Applied Physics Ph.D. candidate at Harvard's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
