At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Project Green Terra; to inspire global communities to respond proactively towards adopting green lifestyle

Planet Earth, as we know it, is decaying due to the thoughtless action of man. Our lifestyle, our greed for more than our need, and our total disregard to the natural world in all its form has led to a massive scale devastation and degeneration of the world, which is now rapidly approaching annihilation. Ever growing population, wastage and ill-distribution of resources, rampant and worldwide destruction of our forests and wildlife are some of the primary causes. Global warming and climate change due to the increase in greenhouse gases and other pollutants in the atmosphere are the fallouts. Nature and Earth is warning us periodically that as a race we need to change, we need to nurture and take care of what has been given to us. Project Green Terra is a holistic effort to counterbalance what has been going wrong; it’s an effort to heal the ailing Earth.
The prime objectives are: To raise awareness about global warming and climate change, about the importance of nature and natural elements of water, air and earth, to promote green living, sustainable lifestyle, harmonious co-existence with nature and wildlife, to motivate and mobilize people globally and make them commit to act, to lead to a greener and healthier planet, to create a global mass movement towards healing the planet. To showcase that the entire world is one and it is time for the human race to unite as one and fight for its survival and safeguard the only home it has and to preserve it for the generations to come.
It is now up to each one of us to become individually responsible locally, nationally and internationally to change our own micro-worlds and the life styles that we lead. This seems to be the only solution, however improbable it may seem, that can today begin to regenerate the Earth.

I am a globetrotting thrill seeker looking for places with mountains and attempt to climb the highest spot of any place I visit. My life on and off the edge is all about believing in my dreams, holding my life in my hand, swinging out my ice axe into the fuzzy unknown, with complete faith in myself and the elements, and finally emerging out alive at the top, only to stand on an insignificant piece of rock or a forlorn patch of ice. Risking my life and limbs repeatedly, putting everything at risk on one single move, on one tiny ant sized piece of ledge or rock, one insane leap, one single frozen second, one gravity and definitely logic defying upward push… nothing to hold on to, or to hold me back. If I fall, I go but if I don’t then I am euphoric. I am not happy living one life. Dying a million times and living million lives in this one I fulfill my infinite dreams. Welcome to my vertical world where physical and mental limits are redefined and stretched to breaking point every day.
Favorite meal:
By choice I am vegetarian and prefer simple food that is fresh, lightly cooked and retains the original colour, taste and aroma. A salad with ensemble of fresh crunchy vegetables like tomato, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, olives, broccoli, diced cottage cheese, etc tossed in extra virgin olive oil with ample garnishing of sesame seed mixed with bit of soya sauce and thin crust garlic bread on the sides, all served piping hot. A glass of red wine at room temperature to accompany.
A funny story about me:
Invited as the opening speaker at a high profile corporate global summit in Oslo, I reached when everyone were anxiously waiting for me to arrive. But the security guard outside wouldn’t let me in since he thought a small statured person like I couldn’t be the climber who was expected. He had no idea how I looked and had assumed I was this 6 plus foot giant with bulging muscles. I had on id on me either. Finally I had to call my contact from inside to go in. The guard is now a good friend.
