Nitin is a candidate for an MBA in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation track at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and holds a Bachelor's degree from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Surathkal, India. A StartingBloc Fellow, Nitin is passionate about using markets and enterprise to catalyze development, and has worked with social enterprises such as SKS Microfinance and The Spark Group. As the only Asian Staff Writer for NextBillion.net, a project of WRI and the Acumen Fund, Nitin analyzed sustainable business models aimed at the world's poorest citizens. His papers on sustainable investments in Indian education were accepted by MIT International Review and the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations On-Campus Conference. He is the founder of Engineers for Social Impact (a unique fellowship program connecting top talent to credible social enterprises), Let Me Know (an online community to share information of opportunities with the youth), and The Surathkal Innovation Challenge.
